Professor Dixon's coach recognized his teaching skills and encouraged him to open his own academy. Since there were no Brazilian Jiu Jitsu schools in all of Cumberland County, Professor Dixon decided to share his knowledge with students in his home area and in March of 2007 opened the first Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy in Cumberland County.
Professor Dixon earned his Purple Belt in 2008 and his Brown Belt in 2010.

In 2010, Prof. Dixon joined the Combat Base affiliation led by the
legendary 5th Degree Black Belt, Chris Haueter.
In November of 2011 Prof. Dixon received his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from Professor Chris Haueter.
In 2014, Professor Dixon received his first stripe on his Black Belt from Professor Chris Haueter.

Although Professor Dixon has extensive qualifications in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, what matters even more is how successful his students have become. His students compete at the expert levels in Jiu Jitsu tournaments. He challenges them to compete at the highest levels and doesn't have them compete in beginner levels just to win medals.

Professor Dixon has taught over 6000 adult classes and over 3000 kids classes in the course of his teaching career and has coached close to 2000 tournament matches for his students. Needless to say he is the most experienced coach and teacher in the area by far.

In 2013 Professor Dixon began focusing his students toward tournament competitions. As a team Impact competes in three tournaments per year. Here is just a partial list of Impact's tremendous success:

2017 IBJJF Washington DC Open Black Belt Champion
On November 11, 2017 Professor Dixon was promoted to 2nd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by Professor Chris Haueter. Professor Dixon is the highest ranking Jiu Jitsu instructor teaching in Cumberland and Cape May Counties.
First Expert Win 2008 NAGA World Championships
Head Instructor, Dan Dixon, is a 2nd degree Black Belt in Brazilian
Jiu Jitsu under legendary coach Chris Haueter of Combat Base. He
is also a Black Belt in Judo. His 2nd degree Black Belt is also certified by the IBJJF the international governing body for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Dan Dixon (48) was born and raised in Millville, NJ. He began his martial arts training in 2001 in Judo but soon gravitated toward Brazilian Jiu Jitsu recognizing the fact that it is a more effective method for a smaller person to defeat a larger more powerful attacker.
In 2006 Professor Dixon was awarded his Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Today Professor Dixon is the only IBJJF Certified Black Belt in the area. His 2nd degree is certified by the IBJJF, the world governing body for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
